 Conclusions

1/ The sharpest aperture varies with different type of lens, make and model.

2/ It is not the smallest or the largest aperture. It is in the middle.

3/ It varies with the distance of the subject to the lens/camera. 

So before you shoot the camera,

1/ Decide which mode is most appropriate: Aperture, Speed/Time or Auto.

2/ Use the tripod.

 

3/ Use remote trigger.
